The Bedside (“we”, “us”, “our”, or “Company”) is operated by Chemmo Holdings, LLC and is the mobile application (the “Service”) for sending and receiving urgent “come to the bedside” alerts during a loved one’s hospice or end-of-life vigil.
This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

The Bedside uses the collected data only for the following purposes:
We do NOT embed any third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. There is no Mixpanel, no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics, no Amplitude, no Segment, no Sentry, and no Crashlytics. Server-side error logs from our Cloud Functions are retained only as long as needed to diagnose technical issues and are never linked to advertising or marketing systems. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Service uses the following processors. Each receives only the data necessary for its function and is bound by its own privacy policy and our data-processing agreements.
Firebase (Google Cloud): authentication, Firestore data storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging (push). Receives: your account email, profile, contacts list, alert-event timestamps, push token.
Twilio: SMS delivery to your contacts; phone-number verification (Twilio Verify). Receives: phone numbers of recipients you add and the body of messages you send.
SendGrid (Twilio): email delivery to your contacts who you’ve configured to receive email. Receives: email addresses of recipients you add and the body of emails you send.
RevenueCat: managing the $4.99 in-app purchase — 6 months of access (non-renewing). Receives: a pseudonymous user ID and your purchase status — no payment instrument data (Apple processes the transaction).
Expo / Expo Application Services: app distribution and push-token relay through Apple Push Notification service. Receives: your device push token (no message contents).
We encourage you to review these processors’ privacy policies. We do NOT use any analytics or tracking SDK.
We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deleting your account triggers our requestAccountDeletion Cloud Function, which removes your profile, contacts, alert-event history (including per-event delivery receipts), and any pending invites. Your Firebase Authentication record is deleted at the end. Deletion is irreversible.
Twilio retains message-delivery logs for its own compliance per Twilio’s policy. SendGrid retains email-delivery logs similarly. Apple retains your purchase receipt regardless of whether you delete your Bedside account — that’s how Restore Purchase works on a new account.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@chemmoholdings.com or use the in-app Delete Account flow.
The Bedside is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact admin@chemmoholdings.com and we will delete it.
The Bedside is used during emotionally significant moments. We treat all data with the gravity that context deserves. We do not analyze, profile, advertise against, share, or otherwise commercially use information about who is on your alert circle, who you alert, or when. Alert events are operational data only — used solely to deliver the message you sent.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date.
